Wow! An intriguing mafia style book. Things aren’t always what they seem to be on the surface.
After a bad breakup left her devastated, sweet, innocent Amber takes advantage of a job offer by her good friend, Henry, that comes with an apartment and a roommate in New York City.
This story chronicles Amber’s journey from California to New York City, getting to know her new neighborhood and the new people in her life with the help of Henri’s cousin, Fiona. Being a naive, young woman in a huge, strange city is a scary thing to survive everyday with the unknown.
Amber’s a fast learner in her new job as waitress/manager at Lucky’s Pub and quickly learns how important the name Bugiardini is to both the pub and now to her. A name she discovers is a well known mafia family.
There are many twists and turns to this story with family loyalty as well as family secrets. Amber gets a very fast education in the way of the streets when living and working within the mafia world.
There is every emotion you can imagine when Amber’s life is turned upside down with danger, drugs, organized crime, love and heartbreak. This is an intricate, dramatic story that I’m sure readers will enjoy.
